Evening and Weekend Appointments

From 1st October 2022, there will be a new model of Enhanced Access, which will initially run until March 2023.

What’s new / different?

From 1st October, Haringey GP Federation will:

  • provide Enhanced Access Hub Services from hub sites on weekdays and Saturdays on behalf of Haringey’s Primary Care Networks
  • deliver urgent appointments on Saturday evenings, Sundays & Bank Holidays.
  • ensure some 111 ringfenced slots (weekday evenings and Saturday daytimes)

Timings and locations are slightly different to the previous Enhanced Access service.

The new service operates at the times and locations outlined below:

Where will the service be provided?

The Enhanced Access Service will be delivered via hub sites across five PCNs. Current schedules and locations are shown below:

North Central PCN

Bounds Green Group Practice

Haringey GP Federation operating hours:

  • Monday – Friday 18:30-20:00
  • Saturday – 09:00 – 17:00

North West PCN

Muswell Hill Practice / Highgate Group Practice (currently hosted at Queenswood)

Haringey GP Federation operating hours:

  • Friday – 18:30-20:00
  • Saturday – 09:00–17:00

South West PCN

Queenswood Medical Practice

Haringey GP Federation operating hours:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 18:30 – 20:00
  • Saturday – 09:00–17:00

North East PCN

Somerset Gardens Family Health Centre and Westbury Medical Centre (Westbury temporarily hosted at Somerset Gardens)

Haringey GP Federation operating hours:

  • Monday-Friday – 18:30 – 20:00
  • Saturday – 09:00-17:00

N15 PCN

St Ann’s Road Surgery (currently hosted at Somerset Gardens)

Haringey GP Federation operating hours:

  • Saturday 09:00 – 17:00

How can patients book direct?

Patients can book EA Hub appointments via their own practice during normal operating hours.

Outside of normal operating hours, patients can call the EA hub site direct on 0330 0539499 i.e. from 6.30pm Monday – Friday, 9am on Saturday and 8am on Sunday.

How will the service be staffed?

The service will be staffed by GPs, Nurses and HCAs with admin support.

What mix of face-to-face and remote appointments will be available?

The service will provide a mix of face-to-face and remote appointments throughout the week.

Face-to-Face appointments will be weighted towards the weekend, whereas telephone consultations will make up the majority of appointments offered during the week.
